Apple wood!

Ed does not need more wood! But when he saw a picture of some milled boards he couldn't resist. After all, apple is his favorite wood.

The wood was 50 miles away so we took off one morning or the pleasant journey across the Willamette Valley.

The wood did not disappoint.

Look at that grain!

It must have been a grand old apple tree!

Ed has cut some into spindle blanks to finish drying and settling. It will most likely be awhile before they become spindle.

Stunning grain and colours. Can’t wait till we see how Ed works his magic with this.

BTW, just a thought. I used to love the “draw” sales where we could put our name down for one/two of the listings and the buyer was drawn. Seems about my only chance to buy as the listings come up a good minute after time and most of them are gone when they show on my screen. Thanks for considering, even if just one or two each release, for those of us outside CONUS.

Omg – beautiful beautiful beautiful wood – how very lucky you must feel to experience all of these amazing talents

Really appreciate this sneak peek of what happens behind the scenes! The wood is gorgeous, and will make some beautiful spindles indeed.
