Apple wood!

Ed does not need more wood! But when he saw a picture of some milled boards he couldn't resist. After all, apple is his favorite wood.

The wood was 50 miles away so we took off one morning or the pleasant journey across the Willamette Valley.

The wood did not disappoint.

Look at that grain!

It must have been a grand old apple tree!

Ed has cut some into spindle blanks to finish drying and settling. It will most likely be awhile before they become spindle.

Really appreciate this sneak peek of what happens behind the scenes! The wood is gorgeous, and will make some beautiful spindles indeed.
